Robert PalomoHello... my name is Robert Palomo and my company is Thirdline International Technical Communications, Ltd. I specialize in delivering native English technical communications services to software producers throughout Europe and Scandinavia.

I have more than a decade of experience working with US and European software development teams including stints at major firms such as TogetherSoft and Borland (details on my PDF Résumé/CV).

Along the way I have produced both print and electronic documentation of various kinds, including:

  • User guides and technical references
  • Tutorials
  • On-line Help systems
  • Demos for both marketing and training
  • Product brochures
  • Media reviewer's guides
  • e-Newsletters
  • Web content

I've had considerable experience building and leading a documentation team, working with project stakeholders, and managing workflows. Beginning in 1996 I began working with the Together technologies (synchronus UML models and Java code, QA metrics & audits, etc.) and the engineering team in St. Petersburg, Russia. Over the next several years as Together products grew to over 50 million dollars in annual sales, I was responsible for growing the documentation. I inherited a few crude HTML files and over the next several years built the Together documentation up to a world-class, comprehensive set of materials developed by an international team on 2 continents using industry-standard tools and techniques. My team was one of the first to use JavaHelp in a large commercial Java application.

For over five years I've worked in international, multicultural, geographically dispersed environments. I find like working in that kind of setting, to the point where I've made it my specialty and main focus. As a small service provider I am very flexible about how we can work together. I focus on one client, one project at a time.

If you have a software project in the pipeline and need to outsource any facet of your technical communications in English, please get in touch and let's see if we can work together to produce some great software!
